Description
The Setúbal Bay is the natural habitat of the bottlenose dolphin, one of the only three sedentary communities of dolphins in Europe. About 30 individuals of this species live here permanently – here they reproduce, feed, play and communicate.
On this boat trip along the Sado river estuary and along the coast of Serra da Arrábida, in the calm waters of the Luiz Saldanha Marine Park, let yourself be dazzled by one of the best places in the world for dolphin sightings in their natural habitat, only 30 minutes away from Lisbon.
The Luiz Saldanha Marine Park is rich not only in bottlenose dolphins, here we can see other species of marine mammals such as the Short-beaked common dolphin, Pilot whales, dwarf sperm whales and even Orcs can be observed from September to October on their annual migration route to Northern Europe.
During your tour, you will have the possibility to taste a Muscat wine from Setúbal on board and free time for snorkeling and diving in the clear waters of Arrábida. Pick-up and drop-off at your accommodation are included on this dolphin watching tour.
By choosing a company licensed for dolphin observation you will be contributing to the conservation of the marine ecosystem and protected marine areas, allowing the dolphin watch program in Luiz Saldanha Marine Park waters, following the conduct standards that are in harmony with dolphin and marine mammal habitats and dynamics!
NOTE: The group of Roazes-Corvineiros (Sado Dolphins) are wild animals in their natural habitat. We do our best to make sure it’s possible to see them, but we do not guarantee 100%, although the success rate is very high (around 98%).
