Description
On this full day tour we will discover the romanticism and history of the portuguese royalty, the town of Sintra and the Pena National Palace, the fabulous views of the cliffs of Cabo da Roca – the westernmost point of the European continente – and the glamor of the aristocratic village of Cascais.
We start the day with a walk through the mysterious Pena Park, which reminds us of the enchanted woods of children’s tales. The visit to the famous Pena Palace will give you breathtaking views over Sintra and the Moorish Castle.
Afterwards, we will have free time for lunch and explore the town center, or to visit the National Palace of Sintra (optional). Don’t forget to taste its most famous traditional sweets: Queijada and Travesseiro. After lunch, we’ll take the beautiful roads of the Serra de Sintra to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of the European continent, where the grandeur of the Atlantic Ocean fills our souls.
On the way to Cascais, we’ll stop at Guincho Beach, world famous for surfing and windsurfing lovers. The panoramic views over the Atlantic will provide fabulous photographic memories. In Cascais, we will have free time to stroll through the historic center, do that last shopping in local stores or simply relax by the sea.
On the way back to Lisbon, we´ll pass by Estoril, with its beautiful gardens in front of its famous casino, frequented by members of some royal families during World War II, spies and exiles. Along the seaside Avenida Marginal enjoy the breathtaking views over the Atlantic and the Tagus river. This road was considered one of the best summer driving experiences in Europe. Our tour ends in the city center.
