Description
On this full day tour we will combine the two most famous portuguese medieval towns with our most popular fishing town: Sintra, Nazaré and Óbidos. We start the day with the romantic Sintra and the Pena Palace, have lunch by the sea in Nazaré and, returning to Lisbon, visit the medieval town of Óbidos.
We start the day with a walk through the mysterious Pena Park, which reminds us of the enchanted woods of children’s tales. The visit to the romantic Pena Palace will give you breathtaking views over Sintra and the Moorish Castle. Afterwards, we will have free time to explore the town center and taste its most famous traditional sweets: Queijada and Travesseiro.
Our next stop will be the picturesque town of Nazaré, where we have free time for lunch. With its old fishing traditions, beautiful beaches and regional restaurants, nowadays Nazaré is also known among surfers, for having the biggest waves in the world. Nazaré also has one of the most well known panoramic views of the portuguese coast, overlooking the Atlantic.
On the way back to Lisbon we´ll visit Óbidos… a charming medieval town built inside the walls of a 12th century castle, an authentic journey into the past, with its whitewashed houses covered with flowers and tiles. Free time to roam through its winding streets and taste the famous “Ginjinha de Óbidos” – a sour cherry liquor served in a chocolate cup.
